VIN DE FRANCE
Le Chant des Griots
Vin de France
Viognier (70%), Rousanne (30%)
During the year 2009 we finally could complete our wine range with our first white wine. We had been looking for whites grapes vines for a few years but the scarcity of those (that represents barely 1% of the total surface) made it difficult. When we had the opportunity to buy two plots, we literally jumped on the occasion!
“Le Chant des Griots” means the Song of the Griots. A Griot is an African singer and storyteller from Mali. They wander in the countryside from villages to villages in the different communities to sing and tell tales. We were back from a trip to Mali when we had to find a new name, so we went for this one that sounded beautiful! Moreover we have a kind of cherry tree that grows a lot around the village that is called “Griottiers” which is a beautiful parallel with our trip to Mali.
The Chant des Griots is a fine white wine that reveals little by little its white flowers perfume and a round white fruits tasting mouth. Well chilled, it will be perfect for the aperitif or to pair with grilled shrimps or fresh goat cheeses for examples!
